Ha Sung Woon's Special Fan Event Cancelled Due to Fan Backlash

In a surprising turn of events, Big Planet Made Entertainment made an announcement through Ha Sung Woon's official account on March 5th KST, stating that the much-anticipated special fan event scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd has been canceled following strong opposition from fans.

The agency expressed regret over the cancellation, stating, "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Fans who had purchased albums in order to participate in the event can expect refunds through the respective purchase platforms."

Furthermore, they assured fans, "We deeply regret any disappointment caused and pledge to improve our future event planning. Thank you for your understanding."

Initially, on March 4th, the agency had unveiled a birthday event for Ha Sung-woon, where fans who purchased his eighth mini-album 'Blessed', released back in July 2023, could partake in a lottery to attend the photo session + birthday party event on March 22nd, with only 50 winners being chosen.

However, this announcement was met with criticism and dissatisfaction from fans, who deemed the event lackluster and raised concerns about the requirement to purchase an old album for entry.

Fans took to social media to voice their disappointment:

• "A fan signing event for a birthday celebration? Seems unusual for an idol."

• "Inviting just 50 fans to a birthday party feels more like a kid's gathering than a fan event."

• "It appears like a rushed attempt to organize an event without much thought."

• "Fan sign events often prioritize money over fan participation. Why prioritize this now, when sales aren't a major concern?"

The dissatisfaction among fans eventually led to organized protests, with some planning truck demonstrations adorned with banners protesting against Big Planet Made Entertainment's handling of the event.

Ha Sung Woon, who debuted in 2014 as a member of HOTSHOT and later garnered fame through 'Produce 101 Season 2' and Wanna One, only recently resumed his solo activities post-completing his military service in April 2023.

Don't miss out on 'Signal' making a comeback with its awaited season 2, now titled 'The Second Signal' after a decade.
