KBS Denies SM Entertainment's Alleged Block of EXO's Xiumin from Appearing on Broadcasts

KBS has firmly denied the accusations made by One Hundred Label regarding SM Entertainment's alleged influence over the broadcasting network. One Hundred Label claimed that KBS had unofficially indicated that Xiumin would be unable to make appearances on shows like KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' if other SM Entertainment artists were scheduled to perform.

One Hundred Label expressed their frustration, stating, "KBS has informally notified us that Xiumin cannot participate in programs like 'Music Bank' alongside SM Entertainment artists. Despite our continuous attempts to engage, our requests have been disregarded." The agency also voiced concerns over a potential conflict of interest with a specific agency leading to restrictions on their artists' promotional activities on music shows. They lamented, "If this unjust situation persists, our artists may face obstacles in appearing on music programs whenever SM Entertainment artists are promoting. It is disheartening for us to share this unfortunate development."

In response to the allegations raised by One Hundred Label, KBS refuted the claims, asserting, "The assertions are baseless, and we have maintained open lines of communication with the agency." Notably, SM Entertainment has not publicly addressed the controversy as of yet.

Meanwhile, Xiumin, who debuted under SM Entertainment as part of EXO in 2012, made a significant career move in 2023 by joining INB100, a subsidiary label under One Hundred Label, alongside Baekhyun and Chen.
