A new lawsuit has surfaced involving Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother, Janice Smalls, and the majority stake in Bad Boy Entertainment. Filed by Kirk Burrowes, co-founder and former president of the label, the legal documents allege a scheme to defraud Burrowes of his rightful ownership.

In a dramatic turn of events detailed in the lawsuit, Diddy reportedly used a baseball bat to intimidate Burrowes into signing away his 25 percent stake in 1996. The shares were then transferred to Smalls, implicating her in the alleged fraudulent activity.

Burrowes, who now finds himself homeless, accuses Smalls of employing intimidation, violence, and financial concealment to maintain control over the record label. He seeks $100,000 in owed compensation, restoration of his ownership stake, annual profit shares, and a full audit of Bad Boy Entertainment’s financial records.

This legal battle adds to the scrutiny surrounding Diddy’s past interactions with former Bad Boy artists. While Diddy garnered attention in 2023 for returning publishing rights to artists like Ma$e, The LOX, and 112, ex-Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry criticized the move, claiming the publishing rights now hold minimal value.

Curry, known for his feature on Diddy’s “Bad Boy for Life,” dismissed the gesture as merely a publicity stunt, advocating for more substantial financial reparations instead.
