BoA and Shinee’s Key to Co-Host SM Entertainment's 30th Anniversary Special

SBS will premiere the first segment of its Lunar New Year special 'K-POP The Beginning: SMTOWN 30' on January 28th at 6 p.m KST. The program will honor SM Entertainment's 30 years in the industry and feature exclusive broadcasts from the recent 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025 THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE' event in SEOUL.

Acting as hosts, BoA, recognized as SM's enduring foundation and the acclaimed "Star of Asia," will team up with Key, the charismatic performer from SHINee and popular entertainer, to lead audiences through the company's rich history.

The special will revisit pivotal moments in SM's history, beginning with the debut of H.O.T., the pioneers of K-pop idol culture. Kangta, a former member of H.O.T. and current director at SM, will share anecdotes about the group's immense success, including the frenzy surrounding the sale of DNA member cards at stationary stores.

The program will spotlight SM's legendary artists such as S.E.S., Shinhwa, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, and Girls’ Generation, providing insight into the behind-the-scenes tales of their groundbreaking careers.

Fans can anticipate collaborative performances from the 30th-anniversary concert, including a captivating stage featuring S.E.S.’s Bada with aespa’s Karina and Winter, as well as a nostalgic performance by H.O.T.'s Kangta and Tony An alongside NCT DREAM.

Part 2 of 'K-POP The Beginning: SMTOWN 30' is scheduled to air on February 1st at 6:20 p.m KST, further continuing the tribute to SM Entertainment's enduring legacy.
