Reports from media sources on May 1st stated that a man in his twenties has been referred to trial for burglary after breaking into the previous dormitory used by members of the group NewJeans.
Last week, on April 25th, the Seoul Western District Court charged a man with the initials 'A' for unlawfully entering the dormitory of NewJeans members and stealing various items like clothes hangers and cheer slogans. The police investigation revealed that 'A' entered the dormitory twice in December last year, taking advantage of an unlocked door.
Before this incident, NewJeans had left the dormitory provided by ADOR in November following the end of their exclusive contracts with the label. It is assumed that 'A' accessed the dormitory shortly after their departure.
In a separate development, in December of the same year, a netizen who claimed to be an "ADOR employee" shared images of the empty dormitory after NewJeans members had vacated it, generating online discussion.
Additionally, there has been a shift in public sentiment towards NewJeans acknowledged by K-netizens.
