Singer Bobby Kim recently organized an impromptu concert at Korea University, but the event saw only four attendees, leading to disappointment and criticism from viewers.

The concert was a part of the online show 'Wae No Ja', which aired on May 15th KST. As part of the show's concept, Bobby Kim had to personally persuade 100 people to attend the concert within two hours on the university campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. If the target was not met, the concert would not take place.

Wearing a sign that stated “8 p.m. today, location: Blue Raum”, Bobby Kim tirelessly roamed around the campus to promote the event. He even interrupted ongoing lectures in classrooms to engage with students, who responded positively. Even those who did not recognize him immediately were familiar with his popular songs such as “Love… That Guy” and “Tic Tac Toe”.

Despite his dedicated efforts, Bobby Kim expressed his doubts, saying, “I don’t think I'll reach 100. Maybe nine people will show up." By 7:30 p.m., there were no attendees near the concert venue. However, he remained optimistic, stating, "I gave it my best. Meeting such amazing students was a pleasure.”

In the end, only four people attended the concert. It was discovered that a significant university event was taking place concurrently, drawing attention away from Bobby Kim's performance.

Some students explained, “There was a major campus event today, so many couldn’t come,” and “It's unfortunate. I wanted to attend but was committed to the broadcasting festival.”

Upon witnessing the low turnout, Bobby Kim remarked, “I had a feeling it wouldn’t be packed, but I hoped for at least 14 attendees. Let’s consider today's concert canceled.” He further expressed gratitude toward the few attendees, stating, “I appreciate the four individuals who made it and will treasure this memory.”

Following the broadcast of the episode, numerous viewers denounced the production team, criticizing the setup as disrespectful to the artist. Comments included:

“This was highly disrespectful to Bobby Kim. The team should have checked the campus event schedule,”

“This is disrespectful to his existing fans,”

“The entire video was distressing,” and

“They portrayed him in a negative light.”

Responding to the backlash in the comments, Bobby Kim stated:

“I see that many fans were hurt. It is heartwarming that so many are concerned.”

“However, I am fine. It wouldn’t be exciting if everything went smoothly from the start. I will view this as a fresh start and aim to perform in front of 1,000 or even 10,000 people. Let's continue to enjoy this journey together, no misunderstandings."
