The grieving family of a victim who tragically lost his life in a sinkhole incident in a district in Seoul is upset over what they consider to be an insensitive and inappropriate casting offer from a television entertainment program.

A family member of the deceased, Mr. Park, who passed away in the sinkhole accident, shared a screenshot of a direct message (DM) from a member of the production team of the KBS variety show 'Mueos-Ideun Mul-Eobosal.' The show, which stars comedians Lee Soo Geun and Seo Jang Hoon, involves ordinary individuals discussing personal issues for on-air counseling.

In the DM, the show's producer asked if the family would be willing to appear on the show for a counseling session after noticing their social media post as a bereaved family member of the sinkhole accident. The family member, identified as A, responded angrily, questioning the appropriateness of the request and denouncing it as making light of their tragedy.

A has been using social media to express sorrow following the loss of their loved one. In a previous post, A lamented the pain of the situation and questioned what could possibly bring solace to their family.

The family member urged for respectful reporting of the case and criticized the insensitive casting offer in the latest post. The online community reacted promptly and disapprovingly to the situation.

The distressing incident took place on Dongnam-ro in Myeongil-dong, resulting in the death of a man in his 30s who fell into the sinkhole while riding a motorcycle. Another individual in a Carnival vehicle nearby sustained minor injuries.
