Kim Yeon Ji, a former member of the vocal group SeeYa, announced that she will temporarily halt her activities to undergo surgery for a vocal cord cyst. In a video posted on her personal YouTube channel titled “Should I Quit My 20-Year Singing Career?” recorded last year, she shared her struggles with vocal issues. Kim explained how her vocal problems began after pushing her voice too hard during a musical and participating in a new genre show in 2020. Despite trying various treatments, she ultimately received a diagnosis of a vocal cord cyst that required surgery. She continued to work while battling this condition, facing immense pressure and developing vertigo as a result. Despite exploring non-surgical options, the cyst persisted, necessitating her to schedule surgery for February 4. Kim expressed her hope to recover and make a comeback to the stage as both a musical actress and singer once her voice heals. Debuting in 2006 with SeeYa, she is recognized for songs like “A Greeting of Love” and “Crazy Love Song.”
