The final film of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, titled 'Guitar Man,' is set to have its first public screening on May 21st KST, around three months after her passing.
A press preview for 'Guitar Man' is taking place this morning at Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul. Even though Kim Sae Ron’s family received an invitation to the event, her mother is said to be unable to attend due to health concerns.
There are speculations that the recent attention on the rumored relationship between Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun, who are said to have had an underage relationship, might have added emotional stress on her family members.
'Guitar Man' is a musical drama that portrays the journey of a talented guitarist dealing with loss and love, finding solace through music despite facing tough reality. The movie was conceptualized, directed, produced, and starred by singer and filmmaker Lee Sun Jung.
In the storyline, Lee portrays Ki Chul, a skilled guitarist leading a challenging life due to financial struggles. He becomes the guitarist for a live club band called Volcano, recommended by a friend, and there he encounters Yoo Jin, a keyboardist played by Kim Sae Ron. Together with the band, they set out on a quest to discover brightness and hope in the world.
After today's press preview and a special Q&A session with the audience, 'Guitar Man' is slated for an official release on May 30th.
