The family of the deceased actress Kim Sae Ron has lodged a criminal complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of breaking the Child Welfare Act. During a press conference on May 7th KST, attorney Boo Ji Seok from Law Firm BUYOU, representing Kim Sae Ron's family, announced the filing of the complaint against Kim Soo Hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act and making false accusations.

According to the family, Kim Soo Hyun allegedly coerced Kim Sae Ron, who was a second-year middle school student during winter break, into engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior and subjected her to sexual harassment and abuse. They reiterated that Kim Soo Hyun had a relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The family also accused Kim Soo Hyun of making false accusations by trying to have them criminally charged.

Moreover, they disclosed that an unknown informant was reportedly assaulted with a weapon after refusing to sell crucial evidence for a substantial amount of money. They requested police protection for themselves and for Kim Se Ui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Garo Sero Institute), who has been openly supporting the family's assertions.
