JTBC recently unveiled plans to introduce a new weekly programming block named "Friday Series" in July, set to air every Friday at 8:50 PM KST. By expanding its drama offerings to include Friday evenings, JTBC is aiming to establish a "double weekend drama lineup," seeking to capture viewer attention and ratings from Friday through Sunday.

The debut show for the "Friday Series" will be 'The Good Man,' featuring Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung in lead roles. Lee Dong Wook portrays Park Seok Cheol, a kind-hearted man and the eldest grandson of a third-generation gangster family. The series will delve into his emotional and dark romance with Kang Mi Young (played by Lee Sung Kyung), who aspires to be a singer.

Subsequent to this, 'My Youth' starring Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee will be aired. Song Joong Ki plays the role of a florist, alongside Chun Woo Hee, showcasing her acting versatility. The narrative will unravel a tender and emotionally rich story between the two characters.

The third entry in the series, 'Love Me,' marks Seo Hyun Jin's comeback to television. This melodrama focuses on the intricate psychological dynamics of a regular family and promises to showcase Seo's exceptional acting prowess.

Noteworthy dramas in JTBC's existing weekend lineup, following well-received works like 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' 'The Art of Negotiation,' and 'Heavenly Ever After,' include the upcoming 'Good Boy,' starring Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun. This crime investigation drama aimed at a younger audience combines comedy and action, building anticipation among viewers.

The latter part of 2025 is set to feature an array of high-profile dramas, such as 'Esquire,' a courtroom psychological drama featuring Lee Jin Wook and Jung Chae Yeon; 'Hundred Memories,' a romantic triangle drama set in the 1980s; 'The Story of Mr. Kim,' a touching human drama led by Ryu Seung Ryong; and 'Waiting for Gyeong-Do,' a chic and refined drama starring Park Seo Joon.

JTBC has experienced a significant surge in drama ratings, with a 56% increase in the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year. With successful productions like 'The World of the Married,' 'Reborn Rich,' and 'Doctor Cha,' JTBC aims to reinforce its reputation as a major player in the drama industry through the introduction of the Friday Series.

Maintaining its long-standing dominance in audience evaluations by the Korea Information Society Development Institute, JTBC has excelled in various categories, affirming the strength of its diverse content and creative endeavors.

Reinforcing its commitment to leading prime weekend TV airtime, JTBC emphasizes its dedication to exploring different genres and introducing captivating content, ensuring viewers a weekend filled with delightful dramas.

According to JTBC, the "Friday Series" will air two consecutive episodes each Friday at 8:50 PM in the second half of the year. Saturday-Sunday dramas will retain their regular schedules, airing Saturdays at 10:40 PM and Sundays at 10:30 PM.
