Actress Jo Bo Ah had a morning interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on May 19 to talk about her new Netflix series called 'Tangeum'.
'Tangeum' is a mystery melodrama set in the Joseon era, following the story of Hong Rang, the lost son of a prominent merchant family who returns after many years with no memory. Suspicions arise regarding his true identity, particularly from his half-sister, Jae Yi, yet they both experience unexplained emotions growing between them.
Initially scheduled to make her acting comeback after marriage in the Disney+ series 'Knock-Off' alongside Kim Soo Hyun, Jo Bo Ah's return was postponed due to controversies surrounding the lead actor. Consequently, she will now be making her screen comeback with 'Tangeum'.
When asked about the delay, Jo Bo Ah expressed caution, acknowledging the effort and dedication put into 'Knock-Off' by the team. She hopes that despite the setbacks, the work's quality will be recognized and appreciated in the future.
'Tangeum' signifies Jo Bo Ah's return to the screen since her marriage, having filmed the drama for about eight months until May of the previous year. Reflecting on this project and her personal life changes since then, she mentioned feeling a special connection to the series, viewing it as a portrayal of a younger version of herself on screen amidst significant life events like her marriage.
Regarding her experience filming a historical drama, Jo Bo Ah pondered on the challenges and rewards that come with such projects.
