Singer and actress IU posted a cheerful birthday update on social media on May 19, captioned "HAPPY IU MONTH(?) feat. Kkot-Galpi 3" along with various photos from her celebration. The pictures showed IU wearing a crown, smiling in front of a birthday cake, taking mirror selfies, and enjoying relaxed moments away from filming. To celebrate her birthday on May 16, IU donated 200 million KRW (about $145,000 USD), following previous donations in March to support wildfire recovery efforts and improve firefighter working conditions in the Gyeongsang region.

She also made a donation of 150 million KRW on Children’s Day in May to assist child and youth welfare causes. In total, IU has donated 550 million KRW (about $400,000 USD) this year alone.

Additionally, IU is set to release her first remake album in eight years, "Kkot-Galpi 3," on May 27 and is gearing up to start filming her next drama, '21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife' (working title).
