After 'The Match's' success, Yoo Ah In's upcoming film 'Hi.5' is on track for release, but strangely, the actor is missing from the initial teaser trailer.

On April 28, the distributor NEW unveiled the first teaser for 'Hi.5,' a quirky action comedy narrating the story of five strangers who acquire superpowers following organ transplants from an enigmatic donor. The teaser showcases Wan Seo (played by Lee Jae In), a taekwondo athlete, showcasing her newly acquired abilities by soaring through the air.

The narrative reveals each recipient, including characters like Ji Seong (Ahn Jae Hong), Seonnyeo (Ra Mi Ran), Yakseon (Kim Hee Won), Gidong (Yoo Ah In), and Wan Seo, exploring their distinct powers.

Ji Seong mentions, "Did you know you can donate six organs? Heart, lungs, cornea, kidneys, liver, pancreas. That implies there are four others like us." Their powers reflect the organs they received, ranging from enhanced lung capacity to super strength and even beauty enhancements. Despite their conflicting personalities and chaotic abilities, they decide to collaborate, though teamwork proves to be challenging.

Concurrently, Yeongchun (Park Jinyoung), a cult leader who went through a pancreas transplant, embarks on a quest to locate the other recipients, aiming to become the ultimate being.

Directed by Kang Hyeong Cheol of 'Scandal Makers,' 'Sunny,' and 'Swing Kids' fame, 'Hi.5' was filmed in 2021 with a budget of 15 billion KRW (approximately $10.95 million). The movie's release was postponed due to the pandemic and chiefly because of Yoo Ah In's drug-related scandal in 2023.

Yoo was handed a one-year jail sentence and a 2 million KRW (roughly $1,407) fine during his initial trial, which was later commuted to a suspended one-year term while the case awaits the final Supreme Court verdict.

Despite the controversy, 'The Match' drew over 2 million viewers when it premiered earlier this year, ranking third at the 2025 Korean box office. Curiously, the promotional material for that film downplayed Yoo's presence. On the contrary, 'Hi.5' includes Yoo in its posters, albeit his absence in the trailer. Although glimpses of his character are visible, his face is deliberately obscured.

Yoo's name is also missing from the expected cast lineup for the film's press conference in May, raising speculation about his involvement in the promotional activities.

'Hi.5' is slated for release in theaters on June 3.
