Former Cignature member YeAh, also known as Kim Haeun, recently disclosed the surprising reason for her departure from the group in 2021. The disbandment of C9 Entertainment's girl group Cignature had startled fans six months back, considering the group had only been active for four years since their debut in 2020. Earlier, the group had experienced unexpected lineup changes, including the departure of main vocalist YeAh and main rapper Sunn in 2021. While the specifics of their exit were undisclosed previously by C9 Entertainment, with the statement that YeAh and Sunn had chosen to leave the group, YeAh has now shared her side of the story.

Through a heartfelt message on her personal Instagram account under her real name Kim Haeun, she revealed that her contract was terminated due to her inability to meet the required weight set by the company. She explained the extreme weight and diet restrictions imposed on idols by the company, which pushed her towards unhealthy eating practices in attempts to achieve the designated weight. Haeun mentioned that before and after debuting, the company enforced daily weigh-ins and stringent dietary regulations. The stress from these conditions resulted in physical reactions like hives and emotional distress, often leading her to tears at night.

Following a situation where an unnamed Cignature member manipulated their weigh-in results to appear lighter, the company punished the entire group, evicting them from their dorms and restricting social media use for two weeks. The members were warned that failing to meet the weight target within this period would reflect a lack of dedication to remain in the group. Despite her efforts, Haeun couldn't reach the required weight, leading to the termination of her contract and her subsequent departure from Cignature.

In closing, Haeun expressed her passion for singing and dancing, indicating a new beginning or 'season 2' in her life following the end of her idol career.
