Sean Kingston has requested approval from a judge to lift his travel ban so that he can perform at Summerfest 2025. Following his conviction for defrauding vendors of over $1 million, Kingston seeks to leave South Florida for one night to sing at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and start generating income again. The motion, filed by his attorney Zeljka Bozanic, explains that Kingston has been unable to earn money since being placed on home detention due to most of his job offers requiring travel outside the district. Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was found guilty of wire fraud, along with his mother Janice Turner, for deceiving luxury retailers by exploiting his celebrity status. They persuaded high-end vendors to release goods without payment by sending fraudulent wire transfer receipts and documents. The upcoming Summerfest appearance is viewed as an opportunity to revive Kingston's financial situation and fulfill previous commitments. Compliance measures, including GPS monitoring and restricted travel, have been followed since his release on bond in April. The concert is not classified as a nightclub performance but as a legitimate concert event, as emphasized by Bozanic in the petition. Sean Kingston could face a possible 20-year sentence for each conviction, with a sentencing hearing scheduled for August 15, 2025.
