His agency, JG STAR, made an official announcement on May 21, expressing their condolences and confirmed the passing of Bbaek Ga's mother after her prolonged illness.

The agency further emphasized the importance of understanding and offering warm condolences to Bbaek Ga and his family during this period of grieving. The funeral is being held at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital Funeral Hall in Seoul, with the funeral procession scheduled for May 22 at 10:30 a.m.

Bbaek Ga has previously shared heartfelt stories about his mother in various media appearances. In a January interview on SBS PowerFM’s 'Cultwo Show,' he revealed his concerns for his mother’s declining health, showcasing his love and care for her.
