LaRussell and Saweetie have teamed up, with LaRussell expressing his unwavering confidence in Saweetie's upcoming domination of the rap music scene by betting his pinky against a million dollars.
In a recent Instagram post shared by the Vallejo rapper on Wednesday (February 19), viewers got a peek behind the scenes footage of a rehearsal where Saweetie showcased her skills with what seems to be some seriously explosive, unreleased bars. LaRussell didn't hold back in praising Saweetie, commending her rapid progress within just a few months of collaborating together.
"THIS NEW SAWEETIE DIFFERENT!!!!" LaRussell excitedly stated. "I've been working with @saweetie for a couple of months, and I'm incredibly proud and amazed by her dedication. Not everyone possesses the work ethic and drive to constantly strive for improvement, especially when they're already at the top."
LaRussell lauded Saweetie for her commitment to her craft, acknowledging her as a top-tier multi-talented celebrity and major label artist who continues to push boundaries.
"It's easy for us to become content with success and fame," he reflected. "The ultimate goal is to evolve as artists and individuals! She embodies both aspirations, and it's truly inspiring to witness! There's no ego—just individuals hungry for growth and improvement. Thank you, Saweetie, for entrusting us with your journey and artistry."
Although Saweetie's last full-length project was in 2021 with Pretty Summer Playlist, her recent string of singles, including collaborations with LaRussell and peers like Hokage Simon, underlines her continued musical output. Since December 2024, they've been dropping hits such as the live performance of "I'm Good," featuring ClayDough, Jimmy Toor, and Made.By.Harry.
While LaRussell is undoubtedly shaping Saweetie's lyrical prowess, the symbiotic relationship between them suggests that Saweetie is also benefiting from the collaboration. Recently, Saweetie shared the stage with Bay Area icons like E-40 and Too $hort at the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities in San Francisco. Coincidentally, LaRussell also graced the same stage and expressed his excitement for the experience in a separate Instagram post post-weekend.
"WE MADE IT TO THE NBA INDEPENDENTLY!!!!" he joyfully declared. "No major backing! No booking agent! No manager! No huge PR firm! NO HIT SONG ON THE RADIO! We've achieved this from the ground up with a dedicated team and unwavering self-belief! Vallejo! These opportunities typically eluded independent artists. WE DID THIS INDIE!!!! History in the making!"
