Woori Bank is under fire for its lack of business ethics due to its recent choice of advertising model, Jang Won Young, from the same girl group as a model for a rival financial institution.

As per reports from the financial industry on February 13th, Jang Won Young has signed a one-year contract with Woori Bank for an upcoming advertisement set to be released later this month. An official from the financial sector revealed to Chosun Ilbo that Jang Won Young was selected for her alignment with Woori Bank's image and the similarity of her name to 'Won Banking,' the bank's digital service.

While Woori Financial Group currently features singer IU as its main advertising model and Woori Bank showcases the boy group RIIZE, Jang Won Young is anticipated to collaborate with RIIZE to bolster Woori Bank's brand.

Interestingly, Jang Won Young's fellow IVE member, Ahn Yu Jin, has been endorsing Hana Financial Group, a direct competitor of Woori Bank, since June 2023. This has set the stage for a friendly competition between the two former 'Produce 48' trainees under Starship Entertainment.

During a recent episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' Ahn Yu Jin shared her struggles during the survival show and the impact of online criticism on her. Jang Won Young acknowledged the learning curve of youth and expressed a lighthearted perspective on their past experiences.
