Junsu’s Blackmailer, BJ, Appeals Prison Sentence for Conviction

A popular broadcast jockey (BJ) convicted of blackmailing singer and actor Junsu has filed an appeal against her seven-year prison sentence. Ms. A, a woman in her 30s, was found guilty of extortion under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Economic Crimes.

The Uijeongbu District Court handed down the sentence, emphasizing the severity of the offense and the financial and psychological harm inflicted on the victim. Ms. A was charged with extorting approximately 800 million won from Kim Junsu through threats of exposing private conversations.

Kim Junsu, who initially believed Ms. A was a nail artist, fell victim to her scheme for five years. His agency, Palm Tree Island, highlighted that the blackmail targeted his celebrity status, vowing to take legal action to safeguard others from similar exploitation.
