Shopify swiftly took down Kanye West's Yeezy website after a controversial Super Bowl ad promoted a white t-shirt with a black symbol. The online store, powered by Shopify, was shut down for violating the platform's terms of service, according to a statement given to CNN by a Shopify spokesperson. The ad, which aired during a limited broadcast of the Super Bowl, led to a social media outcry and criticism from the Anti-Defamation League.

The contentious t-shirts featuring the symbol associated with the Nazis, provoked outrage with reports suggesting over 100,000 shirts were sold before the website was deactivated. The ADL condemned the use of the symbol, stressing its historical significance and role in spreading hatred.

Further controversy arose when West engaged in a Twitter tirade filled with offensive comments targeting various groups. This prompted calls for action from public figures and organizations, including appeals to Elon Musk. West eventually deactivated his account, acknowledging the impact of his words and thanking Musk for the platform.

West's wife, Bianca Censori, distanced herself from the offensive tweets by expressing a message of understanding and respect towards all people, highlighting her support for Israel and a call for peace and compassion. She emphasized her unconditional love for West, acknowledging his imperfections and seeking guidance and wisdom for him.
