Jun Ji Hyun's Agency Addresses Tax Investigation Reports from Two Years Ago
Following recent reports of actress Jun Ji Hyun being fined after a thorough tax investigation conducted by the National Tax Service in 2023, her agency, IEUM HASHTAG, has issued a statement to set the record straight.
In their official statement released on February 10, the agency clarified, "Actress Jun Ji Hyun participated in the 2023 tax audit and underwent all necessary legal procedures, resulting in a confirmation of no issues identified."
However, minor discrepancies in expense processing methods led to variations between the tax authorities and the agency's tax accountant, resulting in an additional tax payment of approximately 20 million KRW (~13,782 USD). This adjustment is common during routine tax audits, and the agency emphasized that it does not signal any significant tax or legal violations.
Addressing concerns, they stated, "It is important to note that this additional tax payment is wholly unrelated to any major tax controversies or illegal activities."
In other news, Jun Ji Hyun made headlines for her real estate ventures, including the purchase of a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam in 2007, which she later sold in 2021 for a substantial profit. Additionally, in 2022, she and her husband invested in a penthouse in Acro Seoul Forest, Seongsu-dong, highlighting her success beyond the entertainment industry.
