New Orleans Icons Master P and Mia X Honored in NOLA Walk of Fame
In a momentous tribute this week, New Orleans luminaries Master P and Mia X were immortalized in the NOLA Walk of Fame just ahead of Super Bowl LIX buzz.
Master P, renowned for his role in shaping Southern Hip-Hop, reflected on his humble beginnings selling popcorn in the Superdome before rising to stardom. The induction ceremony celebrated his indelible mark on New Orleans’ cultural and music landscape.
The event also honored other influential figures such as the late Tom Benson, former owner of the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, and Mayor Ernest “Dutch” Morial, a trailblazer in the city's political history.
Notable personalities including Marshall Faulk, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Wendell Pierce, and Al Copeland, founder of Popeyes Chicken, were also recognized for their significant contributions to New Orleans.
In a heartfelt tribute, Master P fondly remembered Al Copeland's support, emphasizing the importance of honoring those who have inspired and uplifted their communities.
In a gesture of goodwill, Master P donated his cherished camouflage outfit from the "No Limits Reunion Tour" to the Hard Rock Cafe New Orleans, adding to the city's rich tapestry of memorabilia.
As the NOLA Walk of Fame continues to expand, plans for a dedicated museum showcasing the stories and achievements of its distinguished honorees are underway. Master P envisions the museum as a beacon of inspiration for future generations, ensuring the legacy of New Orleans' greats endures.
