Jeong Hyun Gyu, the champion of the survival reality series 'The Devil’s Plan: Death Room' on Netflix, has expressed regret over the criticism received by contestants Kyuhyun and Yoon So Hee after the show aired.

In a recent interview at a café in Anguk-dong, Seoul, the director Jung Jong Yeon and winner Jeong Hyun Gyu discussed the show's concept. The series featured 14 contestants from diverse backgrounds who competed in strategic brain games to determine the winner after living together for seven days and six nights. Jeong emerged victorious after outshining the other participants.

Following his win, Jeong faced backlash online for his comments to Choi Hyun Joon and strategic moves that were seen as betrayals of Kyuhyun and Yoon So Hee. In response to the criticism, Jeong included a brief apology in his social media profile.

Jeong acknowledged the public's reaction, reflecting on his behavior and expressing remorse. He admitted that his intention was to win, but he understands that some viewers were uncomfortable with his tactics. Jeong emphasized that he did his best in each situation and appreciated the support he received.

Discussing his bond with Kyuhyun and Yoon So Hee on the show, Jeong mentioned that they reached the final three together. He felt responsible for involving them in his alliance, potentially leading to them facing criticism.

Jeong won a prize of 380 million KRW (approximately $277,000) and revealed his intention to donate a portion of it. He plans to host a meal for his fellow contestants and make charitable contributions as a gesture to make up for any trouble caused during the show.

Kyuhyun also addressed the backlash related to the show, emphasizing the importance of respecting different perspectives.
