WJSN member Dayoung recently shared an Instagram Story that seemed critical of Starship Entertainment but later removed it. The Story included a screenshot of Starship Entertainment's official account, which featured birthday posts for different artists, including KiiiKiii member Jiyu celebrating her birthday on May 14, the same day as Dayoung's birthday. Fans noted that Dayoung did not receive a birthday post from the company, unlike Jiyu, leading to speculation that her birthday was intentionally overlooked. This isn't the first time such an incident occurred, as in January, WJSN's Yeoreum also did not receive a birthday post on her birthday.

Fans also highlighted that it has been over 1000 days since WJSN last promoted as a group and released a mini album in March 2021. Alongside the screenshot, Dayoung shared another Story with a hamster character parodying 'Squid Game' and the idiom "To Sa Goo Paeng," which metaphorically means valuing something when useful but discarding it when not.

Both of Dayoung's Stories have since been deleted. Netizens have expressed sympathy for Dayoung, questioning why the company would overlook one of their own artists' birthdays and discussing their frustrations with Starship Entertainment's handling of the situation. Some fans are upset over the lack of acknowledgment for WJSN's achievements and the company's focus on other artists.
