A privacy breach has affected 897 individuals who are members of the fan club, Light, associated with the group Highlight. The leak of personal information, including real names, contact numbers, birthdates, and fan club membership numbers, was unintentionally unveiled on the agency's website.

Around Us Entertainment, the management company, mistakenly disclosed the details of all 897 applicants instead of the intended list of 280 selected participants for Highlight's 'Inkigayo' prerecording event. Fans were outraged by this breach and expressed disappointment in the agency's handling of the situation.

Despite the early morning start and the extensive requirements, nearly 900 fans had complied with the instructions to attend the event at the SBS Open Hall in Deungchon-dong. However, due to the agency's oversight, their personal data was exposed.

The agency responded to the incident weeks later with an apology and a promise to rectify the situation. They stated that they had been monitoring the situation and would take steps to prevent further damage. They offered apologies to those affected and assured them that new fan club membership numbers and cards would be reissued to the impacted individuals. Additionally, they urged members to remain vigilant against potential misuse of their personal information.

In their formal apology, Around Us Entertainment acknowledged the error, expressed regret for the distress caused, and outlined the steps they would take to enhance data protection and prevent similar incidents in the future. They also announced plans to provide new membership numbers and cards to affected members and advised on precautions to prevent identity theft or other forms of fraud.

Alongside the apology, the agency announced the 'Ride or Die' tour by Highlight in Asia.
