Poongja, a popular entertainer and YouTuber from South Korea, has vehemently refuted claims of undisclosed advertising related to her show 'Repeat Restaurant'.
On the 9th of May (KST), 'Studio Suje' YouTube channel posted a video titled “Emergency Upload: Addressing the Sponsorship Controversy in Repeat Restaurant Anyang Episode”, where Poongja directly addressed the allegations.
Expressing her frustration, Poongja mentioned that she immediately went to Anyang for a re-shoot upon hearing about the controversy. She acknowledged the public’s queries after the Anyang episode was released and decided to remove the promotional posters in response.
Feeling the need to address the situation, she shared her anger towards the convincing but unfounded comments circulating online, with specific mentions of the accusers from whom she has gathered evidence.
Subsequently, Poongja read out some of the allegations, notably one claiming the show was paid for, and angrily responded to such claims, challenging the accusers while asserting her confidence in the integrity of the show.
She made a firm declaration that in the three-year history of 'Studio Suje' and 'Repeat Restaurant', they have never accepted payment for featuring any restaurants. Poongja reaffirmed her commitment to fairness in the show, which highlights local eateries based on repeated visits by regular patrons.
The controversy arose during the Anyang episode when a guest recommended a restaurant owned by their parents, leading to criticism. Upon acknowledging the connection and issuing a public apology, Poongja addressed the issue to maintain the show's reputation for impartiality and transparency.
