Korean boy group iKON's performance in mainland China has been suddenly postponed. iKON announced through their official account on X that their "2025 iKON Concert Youth Deficiency" scheduled for October 31st in Fuzhou, China had to be postponed due to local circumstances. Industry sources revealed that there has been a significant increase in scams involving Chinese and Korean singers' performances after iKON obtained permission for their concert in China, leading Chinese authorities to request the postponement. It was reported that there have been cases of companies falsely claiming approval for large-scale concerts by impersonating senior officials of China's state-owned media, CCTV. iKON stated that they will announce the rescheduled date and venue in collaboration with Chinese authorities as soon as possible. Following the installment of THAAD in South Korea in 2016, iKON was granted permission for a commercial performance in mainland China for the first time in nine years. Expectations were heightened that this could signal a relaxation of the so-called Korean Wave restrictions.
