Debuting on May 12, the drama follows the story of Han Geum Joo, a seasoned mechanic with a passion for drinking, who is forced to rethink her habits when reuniting with her ex-boyfriend Seo Eui Joon, a teetotaler. The series, directed by Jang Yoo Jung and written by Myung Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji-hyun, known for their work on 'Drinking Solo' and 'Rude Miss Young Ae,' explores Geum Joo's unexpected journey towards sobriety.
During the online press conference on May 7, Choi Sooyoung and Gong Myung discussed the drama's unique message. Choi highlighted that 'Second Shot at Love' goes beyond alcohol-related themes, offering viewers a chance to reflect on hidden dependencies and genuine happiness.
Portraying the lead character, Han Geum Joo, who hails from a family of drinkers, Choi shared how the show authentically captures the emotions of those who struggle with denial about their drinking habits.
