André 3000 once again surprised fans by pretending to have lost a sketchbook in Amsterdam, sparking speculation of a new album rollout. However, his team dismissed these rumors. Recently, André showed up at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City with a piano strapped to his body, announcing his latest album titled "7 piano sketches." The album deviates from his previous flute sounds and features humorous song titles. André describes the album as "The Best Worst Rap Album In History," emphasizing its lack of lyrics and emotional freedom. Released by Epic Records, the album coincided with the Met Gala, where André showcased a piano outfit designed by Burberry in collaboration with benji bixby.

"7 piano sketches" was partially created before his previous Grammy-nominated album, "New Blue Sun," almost a decade ago during a stay in Texas with only a piano, beds, and TV screens. André was inspired to compose more during spring, signifying a season of renewal and creativity. In a packed year for André, he will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music from Berklee College of Music on May 10 and be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame on November 8 alongside Big Boi.
