(G)I-DLE has decided to revert to their original name, I-dle, as they prepare for their upcoming comeback in May.

The girl group revealed a captivating teaser clip on May 2 KST, showcasing an innovative concept for a girl group. Fans quickly noticed that the group has also changed their social media handles to display the name i-dle, reflecting their original Korean name.

Initially, Cube Entertainment announced the debut of their new girl group as "Idle" in 2018. However, the girls debuted under the name "(여자) 아이들 (Yeoja) Idle," meaning "(Girl) Idle" in Korean and were commonly referred to as just "Idle." This recent rebranding aligns with the group's original name.

This May comeback marks (G)I-DLE's first full-group activity since they renewed their contracts with Cube Entertainment towards the end of the previous year. Following the contract renewal, the members had been focusing on individual projects. For instance, Minnie released her debut solo album 'HER' in January, while Yuqi unveiled her digital single 'Radio (Dum-Dum)' in March.

I-DLE is set to make their return with a special mini-album on May 2 at 6 PM KST, followed by the release of their 8th mini-album on May 19 at 6 PM KST.
