Kanye West has acknowledged imitating Drake's style in the past, despite their ongoing rivalry. West revealed during a livestream with Toronto rapper Top5 that he created music resembling Drake's after the Canadian artist dominated streaming platforms. West admitted to borrowing elements from Drake's flow. Although West was supposed to collaborate with Drake on projects like Donda and Donda 2 while Drake was to contribute to West's album "Honestly Nevermind," these plans did not materialize recently.

In a recent twist, West expressed support for Drake in his legal battle against Universal Music Group, praising Drake's efforts in standing up to the music industry. West encouraged unity among hip-hop artists to combat corporate influences instead of fighting amongst themselves. However, West's sentiments shifted after Drake's track was replaced at the top of Spotify's U.S. chart by Kendrick Lamar and SZA's song "Luther." West took to social media with cryptic messages implying sinister intentions behind the incident, expressing a mix of admiration and skepticism towards Drake's success.
