Singer Yoo Seung Jun, also known as Steve Yoo, has vehemently refuted recent rumors circulating online that he has been performing at nightclubs. On April 30th KST, Yoo took to social media to address the issue, sharing screenshots of articles and stating that the claims were entirely fabricated.
The rumors stemmed from an anonymous post on an online platform alleging that Yoo had been spotted performing at local events or nightclubs in Cerritos, Los Angeles. Dismissing these allegations, Yoo expressed dismay at having to respond to such baseless accusations. He clarified that he has never performed at nightclubs, sung certain songs, or presented himself as a Korean superstar.
Yoo also highlighted his frustration over South Korea's prolonged entry ban against him, resulting from his renunciation of Korean citizenship in 2002. He underscored the lack of a legal judgment or review of the ban's validity after 23 years and expressed regret for the situation. Despite the challenges he faces, Yoo emphasized his identity as Yoo Seung Jun and addressed misconceptions about his past artistic endeavors.
In ongoing legal battles, Yoo has pursued appeals for an overseas Korean visa, facing repeated denials despite court rulings in his favor. He is currently engaging in a third lawsuit against the Ministry of Justice to challenge the entry ban that has kept him from entering South Korea for over two decades.
