Diddy Looks to Silence Cassie Ventura’s Lawyer and Others Until Conclusion of Trial
/Article

Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested a gag order to prevent Cassie’s attorney and others from making public statements to the media before his 2025 trial. This is due to concerns about potential bias from the jury pool. Diddy’s legal team filed a motion asking for a limited gag order to restrict attorneys representing government witnesses, like Cassie’s lawyer, from speaking publicly until the trial concludes. The request follows multiple interviews and appearances by lawyers Douglas Wigdor and Lisa Bloom, who represent key witnesses expected to testify against Diddy. The statements made by these attorneys have been deemed prejudicial by Diddy’s legal team, suggesting guilt and potentially influencing jurors. The proposed gag order would only apply to attorneys representing government witnesses and their clients, with the aim of safeguarding Diddy’s right to a fair trial by an impartial jury. Diddy is facing federal charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution, with the trial scheduled to start on May 5 in Manhattan federal court.
