Actress Moon Chae Won is venturing into unfamiliar territory by becoming the sixth host of ‘SNL Korea’ Season 7, a well-known live comedy show on Coupang Play. This move represents a departure from her usual innocent image.

The announcement by Coupang Play on April 29 confirmed that Moon will be the main feature in an upcoming episode, bringing her acting skills to Korea’s sole live sketch comedy program. Renowned for her compelling performances in historical and contemporary dramas, her upcoming stint shows a significant departure from the graceful and gentle characters she is typically associated with.

Debuting in the drama 'Mackerel Run' in 2007, Moon Chae Won quickly gained recognition for her graceful appearance and strong presence on screen. Her breakthrough came with 'Brilliant Legacy,' and she went on to amass an impressive portfolio with roles in various genres like 'The Princess' Man,' 'The Innocent Man,' 'Good Doctor,' 'Flower of Evil,' and 'Payback: Money and Power.'

Her film career advanced with 'War of the Arrows,' which drew in over 7.4 million viewers and landed her the Best New Actress accolades at both the 'Grand Bell Awards' and the 'Blue Dragon Film Awards.' This success positioned her as an exceptional actress in historical movies.

Now, she aims to bring that same dedication and skill to comedy. Expressing her excitement for embracing a new challenge with 'SNL Korea,' Moon said, “I’ve always enjoyed exploring different genres and projects, so I'm thrilled to tackle this new venture. Comedy is a demanding genre, but I aim to convey my playful energy through subtle emotions and a fresh role.”

Fans are eager to witness a completely different facet of Moon Chae Won, underscoring why she holds her place as one of Korea’s most adaptable and respected actors.
