According to Lil Durk’s father, Dontay “Big Durk” Banks, Lil Durk is using his time in a Los Angeles prison to convert inmates to Islam. Despite facing a murder-for-hire case, his plea for bond reconsideration has gained momentum while he is seen positively utilizing his pretrial detention.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club, Dontay discussed his ongoing support for his son amidst the federal case linked to a 2022 Los Angeles shooting. Rather than focusing on the negativity of Lil Durk's incarceration, Dontay highlighted the positive transformation he believes his son is undergoing.

Dontay mentioned that Lil Durk is actively engaging in converting inmates to Islam, with the number increasing from four to 17 during his time in prison. This dedication came to light on social media as news circulated about Durk’s efforts.

Meanwhile, his legal team, including attorney Christy O'Connor, submitted a court filing requesting a reconsideration of bond conditions. The court document approval indicates a hearing set for May 8 will determine Durk's status following his initial bail denial due to concerns about community safety.

Despite being in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, Lil Durk's commitment to positive change and efforts in prison are receiving attention and recognition.
