SM Entertainment is organizing an extensive global tour of the 'SMTOWN LIVE' concert series to celebrate its 30th anniversary, with a significant stop scheduled in Mexico City on May 9. Unfortunately, the event is encountering issues due to low ticket sales, as more than half of the seats at Estadio GNP Seguros, which has a capacity of approximately 60,000, are still unsold.
Similarly, the 'SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in LA' show planned for May 11 at Dignity Health Sports Park, with a capacity of around 27,000, is also facing a similar situation with slightly over 50% of seats sold. This has led to concerns among K-netizens who expressed surprise and disappointment at the ticket sales status. Despite Mexico being known as a K-Pop hotspot, the response has been underwhelming, with comments questioning the pricing, venue choice, and overall strategy of the tour. The lineup for both shows includes popular acts like TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee members Key and Minho, EXO's Suho and Chanyeol, as well as Red Velvet, NCT groups, aespa, and others, with an extra act featuring Kai of EXO in the LA show.
