SZA Surpasses Adele to Claim the Throne as Billboard’s New Queen

SZA has set a new record for female artists by surpassing Adele's 21 on the Billboard Top 10 chart with her album SOS spending its 85th week in the top positions. This achievement marks the longest-charting album by a female artist to-date. SOS debuted at number one in 2022 and remained in the top spot for 12 weeks, later reclaiming the top position with the release of the SOS Deluxe: LANA edition. While SZA's album has now exceeded Adele's record, it still falls short of the all-time record held by the My Fair Lady soundtrack, which spent 173 weeks in the Top 10. Notably, tracks like "Kill Bill" and "Supermodel" from SOS have contributed to establishing SZA's presence in R&B and Hip-Hop music. In addition to her solo work, SZA has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Doja Cat, and Justin Bieber. Her talents extend to songwriting, with credits on hits like Rihanna's "Consideration." Furthermore, SZA has shared the stage with Coldplay, first opening for them on the "Ghost Stories Tour" in 2014, and later co-headlining Glastonbury with the band in 2023.
