Director Hong Sang Soo is getting ready to release his latest film in May without meeting with the Korean press, as per his past practice. The film titled 'What Does That Nature of Yours Mean to You?' will have a press screening on April 30 without a following press conference. The movie narrates the story of a poet, Dong hwa, who coincidentally visits his lover Jun hee's home and the ensuing events. Hong Sang Soo directed the film, with Kim Min hee serving as the production manager.
The film was selected to participate in the competition section at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year. Hong Sang Soo and Kim Min hee, his partner who was pregnant at the time, attended the festival but did not secure any awards.
After confirming their relationship during a press conference for 'On the Beach at Night Alone' in 2017, where they publicly unveiled their romantic involvement while Hong Sang Soo was still legally married, the couple has refrained from making official appearances in Korea. However, they continue to be present at international festivals.
In 2017, during the press conference where they admitted their relationship, Hong Sang Soo emotionally expressed their love and sincerity, with Kim Min hee adding that they are committed to facing challenges together.
It has recently come to light that the couple has had a child, with Kim Min hee, aged 43, giving birth to their first child and Hong Sang Soo, aged 65, becoming a father again.
