The final appeal hearing for Yoo Young Jae, accused of forcing molestation on a relative, was conducted by the Suwon High Court’s Criminal Division 2-3. The prosecution sought a five-year prison term, consistent with the initial ruling. Yoo, a former news anchor and broadcaster, is the ex-husband of actress Sunwoo Eun Sook, with the victim rumored to be her elder sister. After being sentenced to two years and six months in prison in the first trial in January, Yoo was taken into custody. He expressed remorse and apologized to the victim in his final statement, acknowledging his error in judgment. Yoo was found guilty of multiple instances of unwanted physical contact constituting forcible molestation. His brief marriage to Sunwoo Eun Sook, which began shortly after they met in 2022 and ended in divorce in 2023, attracted attention for its rapid progression. The ongoing annulment lawsuit filed by Sunwoo Eun Sook is separate from the criminal case.
