NewJeans has lodged an appeal disputing the court's decision to uphold a temporary injunction that bars the group from engaging in independent activities.
A statement was released by the law firm Shin & Kim LLC on behalf of NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein on April 16. It announced that they have filed an appeal against the court's ruling to maintain the provisional injunction.
The legal team conveyed that they are committed to actively participating in the legal process to ensure that the facts are properly established.
Following the Seoul court’s decision on March 21, which favored ADOR, the group's current agency, granting their request for an injunction to assert their management rights over NewJeans and prevent the group from entering into independent advertising agreements, the court has upheld its decision barring NewJeans from pursuing independent promotional activities for now.
The full statement from the legal representative of NewJeans reads:
"Hello, this is Shin & Kim LLC, representing Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
The court has recently upheld the initial verdict on the temporary injunction. Subsequently, we have promptly lodged an appeal.
We are dedicated to actively engaging in the ongoing legal processes and striving to clarify the facts. Thank you."
