CoinGecko recently conducted a survey focusing on AI user perspectives, particularly regarding Proof of Personhood (PoP). The survey revealed that the majority of users are interested in differentiating between humans and AI and are open to adopting the PoP concept.

Proof of Personhood (PoP) is a method intended to confirm that a user is a distinct human entity and not a bot, AI, or duplicate ID. Many users view PoP as increasingly important as generative AI and autonomous agents become more prevalent on digital platforms.

Despite the decline in popularity of AI projects due to various factors dominating the Web3 space, AI agent development continues to progress. With AI agents playing a significant role in crypto Twitter and social media, discussions around personhood have become crucial within the crypto community.

According to CoinGecko's survey on AI-related views, a large percentage of AI users believe it is crucial to determine if they are interacting with a human. While many users acknowledge the significance of distinguishing humans from AI, not all are willing to adopt current PoP methods.

Although only a minority of respondents are actively against or neutral towards PoP, there is a substantial group of undecided users who may respond positively to new approaches or incentives. As PoP emerges as a prominent topic in the Web3 community, it could potentially serve as a safeguard against digital manipulation as autonomous agents continue to influence online interactions.
