After taking a three-year hiatus following a plagiarism dispute, singer-songwriter Yoo Hee Yeol is ready to make a comeback to television. The announcement was made by MBC FM4U's 'Bae Chul Soo's Music Camp' on April 14th KST on their official social media. Yoo Hee Yeol will act as a special DJ from April 18th to 21st while the regular host, Bae Chul Soo, is on leave.

Yoo Hee Yeol is known for his participation in various entertainment shows like “The Joy of Conversation,” “Superband 2,” “Sing Again 2,” “Famous Singer Battle Again,” and “New Festa.” However, he took a break from the spotlight in 2022 after accusations arose that his piano composition “Very Private Night” was similar to “Aqua” by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

In response to the allegations, Yoo Hee Yeol admitted the resemblance between the two pieces and expressed regret for not recognizing it earlier. He apologized for any disappointment caused and specifically to Ryuichi Sakamoto and his fans for the unfortunate situation. Despite addressing the similarities, Yoo Hee Yeol clarified his stance on other alleged plagiarism claims surrounding his works.

In July of the same year, Yoo Hee Yeol also mentioned the conclusion of his long-standing program 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' on KBS2. He will reappear in the public eye as a guest DJ, marking his return to broadcasting after the incident.
