Obscure holiday rental firm taunted Airbnb with clever billboard

A new vacation rental company named Savvy has entered the market, challenging industry giants Airbnb and Vrbo. Located near Vrbo's office in Austin, Texas, Savvy has strategically placed a billboard promoting its no-fee model to attract hosts and guests away from the established platforms.

The competition between vacation rental companies has heated up, with Vrbo previously taunting Airbnb with a billboard outside Airbnb's San Francisco headquarters. In response, Savvy has taken a similar approach by placing its billboard near Vrbo's Austin office.

Savvy, an Austin-based startup founded by Eric Goldreyer, offers a no-fee system for hosts to list their properties and guests to book stays. With 150,000 properties across the US, Canada, and Mexico, Savvy aims to address common concerns about fees associated with Airbnb and Vrbo.

While Savvy has a long way to go to match the listings of Airbnb and Vrbo, their focus on eliminating fees has resonated with customers. By providing a subscription option for hosts to enhance their property visibility, Savvy aims to differentiate itself in a competitive market driven by fee structures.
