Eugene “Big U” Henley has entered a plea of not guilty to federal charges in Las Vegas, where he is accused of leading a criminal group associated with the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips and orchestrating the murder of a rapper in 2021. The charges against Big U include racketeering, murder, extortion, wire fraud, embezzlement, and involvement in prostitution. Prosecutors allege that he operated the “Big U Enterprise,” which engaged in illicit activities such as human trafficking, illegal gambling, and financial fraud. The indictment states that Big U ordered the killing of rapper Rayshawn Williams following a music feud. He is also accused of various other crimes including bank fraud, tax evasion, and misappropriation of funds from public programs. Henley, a former gang leader now known for his community work, turned himself in last month and maintains his innocence. If convicted, he could face a lengthy prison sentence, with his trial set to commence on May 20, 2025. Henley previously served a 13-year sentence for a drug-related offense in 1991.
