Kevin Liles is moving to have a sexual assault lawsuit brought by a former Def Jam employee dismissed, arguing that the allegations are false and fall outside the legal timeframe. Liles, a long-standing music executive and current CEO of 300 Elektra Entertainment, filed a motion in New York seeking to reject the lawsuit claiming he sexually harassed and assaulted the plaintiff over 20 years ago. The suit, which also implicates Universal Music Group and Def Jam Recordings, accuses Liles of misconduct and claims the companies enabled his actions. Liles firmly denies the accusations, stating he has maintained a reputation for ethical conduct in his decades-long career. The court is yet to make a decision on the dismissal request.
