Beloved entertainer and comedian Kim Gook Jin is saddened by the passing of his mother, Lee Jae Sook, who died on April 7 at 91 years old.
A memorial altar has been set up at Room 1 of Yonsei Severance Hospital Funeral Hall in Sinchon, Seoul, as announced by the entertainment industry on April 8. The funeral is scheduled for 8 a.m. on April 10.
Kim, along with his wife, singer and TV personality Kang Susie, is currently at the funeral hall, mourning the loss together.
Kim Gook Jin started his career in 1991 through the open comedian recruitment at KBS. He gained fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s, not only as a variety show host but also as a leading actor in dramas and sitcoms.
After a short break, Kim made a successful comeback in 2007 on the popular program 'Radio Star,' later appearing on shows like 'Qualifications of Men' and 'Global Junior Show,' regaining his popularity.
His relationship with Kang Susie, which blossomed on 'Flaming Youth,' caught the public eye, leading to their marriage in 2018.
