IU and Park Bo Gum have secured nominations for Best Actress and Best Actor respectively at the upcoming 61st Baeksang Arts Awards for their exceptional performances in the popular Netflix series "When Life Gives You Tangerines". With a total of eight nominations, the drama has emerged as one of the most lauded productions of the year.
The official list of nominees for the Baeksang Arts Awards, revealed on April 7th, covers various categories in television, film, and theater. "When Life Gives You Tangerines" has been recognized for Best Drama, Best Director (Kim Won Seok), Best Screenplay (Im Sang Choon), as well as nominations in several acting categories including Best Supporting Actor (Choi Dae Hoon), Best Supporting Actress (Yeom Hye Ran), and Best New Actress (Kim Tae Yeon).
IU, portraying the lead character Ae Soon, will be competing against Kim Tae Ri, Kim Hye Yoon, Go Min Si, and Jang Nara in the Best Actress category. Likewise, Park Bo Gum, in the role of Gwan Shik, will be vying for the Best Actor award against Byeon Woo Seok, Lee Jun Hyuk, Joo Ji Hoon, and Han Suk Kyu.
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 5th at COEX D Hall in Seoul, and will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4. This year also marks the third consecutive collaboration between the Baeksang Awards and luxury brand Gucci, which continues to show its support for Korean creative talents through the Gucci Impact Award.
