No Yoo Min, a former member of the well-known idol group NRG, is gaining attention for his prosperous transition into the food and beverage sector, as well as his newfound role as a property owner.

A video released by Moneymentary on April 5th, titled “Why this ex-idol singer now manages a café”, sheds light on No Yoo Min's entrepreneurial journey. He has been operating a café for 15 years while juggling broadcasting and personal well-being pursuits. No Yoo Min explained how broadcasting used to be his primary occupation, but eventually, the café became his main source of income. He shared that he used to oversee three cafes but decided to close them down and now owns a café in a building he purchased.

The video showcased No Yoo Min's café as a spacious and high-end establishment equipped with top-of-the-line facilities valued at over ₩100 million (about $75,000 USD). He mentioned that he and his wife agreed that if he is unavailable due to outside commitments, they prefer not to open the café for the day because he owns the building.

Despite his success, No Yoo Min acknowledged the challenges he encountered. He mentioned how managing a café wasn't as relaxing as he had envisioned, leading to physical issues like eczema from frequent dishwashing and having to eat alone in the storage room during deliveries, which made him feel like he was in a prison without bars.

Reflecting on his past success in broadcasting, he disclosed that although he made a decent income as a singer, he spent just as much. He also noted that he naively assumed he would continuously earn at the same level and realized the truth in the advice given by senior colleagues about the fluctuating nature of fame.

No Yoo Min started his music career in 1997 with NRG, a first-generation K-pop group that enjoyed immense popularity in the late '90s and early 2000s. His narrative serves as a candid portrayal of post-stardom life and the perseverance required to establish a second career.
