In early April, rumors emerged suggesting that some parents of NewJeans (NJZ) members were divided over the contract termination dispute involving their children. This issue arose from a conflict between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE, leading NewJeans to claim that ADOR had failed to fulfill its obligations and protect the group. The dispute centered on the termination of the contract between the group and ADOR in November 2024.

As the rift between the group and the agency continued, parents of NewJeans began taking a more active role in the dispute by expressing their views on social media. Despite this, during the initial court hearing on April 3, 2025, at the Seoul Central District Court, the judge raised questions regarding the exercise of parental rights in relation to the lawsuit, hinting at a potential disagreement among parents on how to proceed.

Specifically, the conflict among the parents of one of the minor members, Hyein and Haerin, resulted in a family court decision regarding the termination of the exclusive contract. This development indicated a division among the parents regarding the legal actions to be taken in the lawsuit.

In response to allegations of parental discord, NewJeans' parents refuted the rumors on social media, emphasizing that the reports were inaccurate. The situation continues to draw interest from Korean netizens, who shared varied opinions on the matter, reflecting concerns about the group's future and urging careful consideration of the decisions ahead.
